self employed driver ROLE
Here at Driven Car Movements, we are always seeking to expand our network of skilled driving partners, take a few moments to read through the information we have provided.
As a self employed delivery driver, you would play a pivotal role in the automotive industry by facilitating the movement of vehicles between locations.
This responsibility includes transporting cars for dealerships, manufacturers, and private customers across varying distances, often utilising trade plates which allow for legal road usage without the need for standard registration or tax.
The driver must possess a comprehensive understanding of vehicle handling, road safety regulations, and customer service skills, as they are often the face of the business in direct interactions with clients. Attention to detail is crucial, as the driver must conduct inspections and ensure each vehicle is delivered in the same condition it was collected.
the pay
As a self employed driver you would have the option of working as much or as little as you like.
The pay can vary greatly due to the nature of the work and the frequency a driver is available to work.
There will be a probationary period of 10 worked days at a lower rate, after this probationary period a driver working full time hours should expect to be earning £750+ a week.
After a further 10 worked days a driver is then eligible for bonuses that can further increase income.
Travel and fuel expenses are all reimbursed, normally the same day.
the day
A straightforward day for a driver would begin with the driver traveling to a designated collection location, situated not too far from their home.
Upon arrival, the driver would then proceed to collect the vehicle assigned to them and conduct a thorough assessment of the vehicle's condition by using an app on their smartphone.
After completing the assessment, the vehicle is then carefully driven to the designated delivery location, where a delivery report is generated using the same app.
Following the delivery, the driver then travels to collect another vehicle, ensuring its safe return to a site that is typically located within a reasonable distance from the drivers home.
